Brought to you by the same folks behind the insanely popular ‘Djakarta Warehouse Project’, We The Fest 2019 (WTF19)—happening from 19 to 21 July 2019—is a three-day festival that weaves together the best of music from across multiple genres (mostly indie) as well as art, movies, fashion and food.
We The Fest established itself as one of the biggest music festivals in Southeast Asia in back in 2014 and now, marking its sixth year, the festival is set to wow with a line-up of international greats such as Troye Sivan, Anne-Marie, Daniel Caesar, Cigarettes After Sex as well as local acts.
The festival will take place at JIEXPO Kemayoran in central Jakarta and will feature multiple stages, a variety of artists across a wide selection of genres, and a repertoire of experimental zones throughout the venue where visitors can get hands-on and involved. Here are some of the many things that you can look forward to!
A Music Extravaganza Like No Other
During WTF19, one can expect to indulge in a wide array of musical genres ranging from pop, rock, indie, hip hop all the way to EDM.
Expect a star-studded line-up of some of the era’s top music sensations including the likes of electro-pop singer and actor, Troye Sivan, Anne-Marie, Daniel Caesar, Cigarettes After Sex, San Holo and Cashmere Cat.
WTF Silent Movie
If you’re looking for a temporary respite away from the noise outside, pay a visit to the WTF Silent Cinema. In cooperation with the Institut Français d’Indonésie and Europe, expect a carefully curated selection of short films that will excite even the most discerning of movie buffs.
The Art Village
Whether you’re artistic or not, The Art Village is a haven where one can explore a multitude of wonderful art works by talented artists from Indonesia. There will also be art classes conducted so if you’re in a creative mood, that’s where you need to be.
Ladies Lounge
For when the continuous hours of dancing and having fun with your friends throughout the three-day festival take a toll on your makeup, ladies, look no further than to the Ladies Lounge.
At the Ladies Lounge, you’ll find the full set up—makeup tables, mirrors, lighting and a team of highly skilled makeup artists at your disposal—to have you looking fresh and on fleek at all times.
How to get to We The Fest
Private Vehicle: If you plan to rent your own vehicle be it a car or scooter, simply search for “JiExpo Kemayoran” via Google Maps and follow the directions.
Go-Jek: In Indonesia, Go-Jek is king and you will almost never go wrong with it. To save yourself the hassle of taking public transportation or finding parking, simply book yourself a Go-Jek.
