Brewerkz Singapoore is known for their range of locally brewed beers. Psst, if you didn’t know, they have even created the world’s first probiotic beer with Probicient! With many collaborations within the local scene, Brewerkz has built a name for itself, as well as a huge fan base for the right reasons.
If you’re a fan of Brewerkz, you’ll be excited to find out that they recently launched a new concept located at Orchard Rendezvous Hotel. The bar boasts a cosy concept, with elevated bar food and dishes that pair perfectly with their tap selection and well-curated cocktails. The best part? They open till midnight daily!
We tried a plethora of dishes, starting out with their appetisers, namely Seven-herbed Crab Cake; Triple Garlic Pork Ribeye and Truffle Cheese Croquette. These appetisers were incredibly tasty, and a great way to kickstart the meal.
Triple Garlic Pork Ribeye
The Triple Garlic Pork Ribeye was our personal favourite appetiser. As its name suggests, garlic was served three ways on this dish – garlic teriyaki sauce, garlic chips and black garlic jam.
The pork was very tender and well-marinated, and the garlic chips provided a lovely crunch and fragrance. It was also served with a salad drizzled with roasted sesame sauce, grapes and pickled cucumber. Pro tip, pair the porkwith the pickled cucumber for a refreshing bite!
Truffle Cheese Croquettes
The Truffle Cheese Croquettes are worth a shoutout too. These perfectly bite-sized morsels consist of deep-fried gouda cheese, drizzled with truffle honey and served with truffle mayo. The truffle mayo was pronounced, but not too strong, and provided a richness to the dish. It’s truly the perfect bar snacks to go with beers of your choice!
Moving on to mains, we tried three of their signatures – Cacio E Pepe with Pan Roasted Quail, Mangrove Red Snapper as well as the Charcoal Grilled Wagyu Beef.
Mangrove Red Snapper
One thing to note about Brewerkz is their philosophy of supporting local entities, and this is reflected in their Mangrove Red Snapper. Using fish freshly delivered from local produce, it’s a great way to #supportlocalsg.
Creamy and umami sauce paired with soft and juicy fish, ikura and Sakura shrimps for an added crunch, this dish was surely the star of the show. Coupled with a side of sweet Chinese cabbage, the red snapper was executed perfectly.
Charcoal Grilled Wagyu Beef
The Charcoal Grilled Wagyu Beef is a must-order for steak lovers. Thick, juicy and succulent meat drizzled with red wine sauce, served with potato confit and balsamic-dressed greens, what’s not to love?
Of course, as with every meal, one has to end it with desserts and just like the appetisers and the mains, three’s a crowd. We had their Naomi, Cempedak Creme Brulee and their Mini Hazelnut Chocolate Tart.
Naomi
Naomi was the piece de resistance of their desserts. ICYDK, this dessert was first introduced during Mother’s Day as a special seasonal item. However, due to popular demand, Brewerkz brought it back on the menu permanently, so that everyone can have the opportunity to try it!
So what exactly is Naomi? This dessert is a raspberry lychee entremet that is surrounded by sorrel granite, juniper parfait and strawberries. It boasts a tart and sour flavour profile that is done in elegance, an incredibly refreshing end to the meal.
Mini Hazelnut Chocolate Tart
Brewerkz’s Mini Hazelnut Chocolate Tart is the brainchild of Executive Chef Seow Tzi Qin. He drew inspiration from his favourite childhood snack, the classic Snickers bar. It comprises a chocolatey hard exterior and a gooey caramel filled interior that is topped off with crunchy hazelnuts, paired with their homemade rum and raisin ice-cream with an earl grey crumble. This gastronomic creation was a delightful explosion of flavours and textures!
Enough with our description, it’s time for you to head down and try out their dishes for yourselves. Head down to their new outlet for a time to unwind, and why not grab a couple of drinks as well?
