Offering an all-rounded tippling experience along with magnificent views of the Marina Bay skyline to match, Cook & Brew truly is where it’s at if you’re looking to impress.
Perched on level 33 of The Westin Singapore, the gastro-bar distinguishes itself from the slew of posh bars around the area itself with its vast selection of fine wines, craft beers and quality nosh.
More than just an after-work venue for the working crowd, Cook & Brew impresses with its meticulously designed menu that offers scrumptious bar food. It is also worth mentioning that their cocktails are all very delicious and hand-crafted by a team of experienced bartenders, but don’t just take our word for it—pay them a visit and get ready to be blown away.
When it comes to loaded fries, It’s easy to lose track of which was most memorable amidst the slew of restaurants in Singapore that come up with their own unique creations. We do, however, admit that the Pad Thai Fries (S$16++) definitely ranks high on our list.
Stacked atop a bed of sweet potato fries is chicken, prawns, beansprouts, crushed peanuts, chilli, parsley and a sweetish pad Thai sauce. An amalgamation of salty, sweet, spicy and sour,—the four quintessential flavour profiles in Thai cooking—every bite was a symphony of flavours, reminiscent of Thailand’s national dish.
Nose-to-tail dining is all the rage right now among members of the culinary world and the chefs here are no exception to the trend. Adamant about making every part of an animal count, the team here go as far as to adopt pig’s ears to create one of the menu’s most phenomenal snacks.
Think strips of crispy bacon but with cartilage. Skilfully prepared, the Crispy Pig Ears (S$7++) were delightfully crispy, salty and boasted a bacon-like flavour. An addictive snack to have and one that pairs brilliantly with beer, there’s no doubt that we’ll be ordering ourselves this the next time we return.
It’s near impossible for anyone to dislike nuggets, so why not consider their Pork Nuggets (S$11++), a dish that sees slow-braised, shredded pork coated in a thin batter and deep-fried until crispy.
Served alongside the crispy morsels is a piquant corn relish. Fresh-tasting and tangy, it complements the meaty flavour of the pork nuggets very well.
Nothing spells classy better than a martini. Elegant, delicious and great to have before or after a meal, martinis are essential when you’re savouring nosh of Cook & Brew’s calibre. Great news though, the gastro-bar offers 1-for-1 vodka martinis on Mondays!
Choose from a selection of 6 fruity concoctions and enjoy a pair at just S$18++.
