Electric Blockaloo: Virtual Music Festival Happening in Minecraft

Electric Blockaloo Festival

If you thought the light shows and stage setups at Tomorrowland were transcendent of modern-day EDM festivals… Wait until you see what wild worlds can be conjured in Minecraft! Electric Blockaloo, the virtual music festival of the hugely popular video game, Minecraft has just released the headline acts and boy are we stoked!

Happening virtually in the mind-bending world of Minecraft from 25 to 28 June 2020; get set to be starstruck by a whopping 850 performers across 65 stages. Giving audiences full customisability, you’ll get to design your own campsite as if you were at the festival itself. You can also anticipate a bunch of cool whimsical features—the sort of crazy you’d expect from the quirky Minecraft world.

Do the names, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki and Felix da Housecat inspire thoughts of an epic live show? You best believe it. Read on to find out what else you can expect at Electric Blockaloo.

Electric Blockaloo Minecraft Festival Lineup

Featuring nearly a thousand performers who will bust out their grind across 65 different virtual stages; viewers get to experience a rave from the comfort of home, set against the backdrop of fictional stages and real-life festival venue replicas in 8-bit graphics.

Why is this awesome, you might ask. Well, it’s simple. Rather than squeezing through densely packed crowds to get drinks and covering long distances just to get from one stage to another… As you would typically do so at a real-life festival, all you have to do now is toggle your mouse to hop between stages!

We couldn’t possibly list the names of every performer because there’s just too many! But among the huge lineup of over eight hundred acts, standouts include big-name DJ such as Above & Beyond, Claptone, Tritonal, KSHMR, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Rudimental, DJ Soda, and Felix da Housecat.

Inside the festival, attendees will have the ability to jump to 65 different stages — all with different looks envisioned by the artists and labels themselves — and explore different activities and mini-games.

As the event is happening, an online chat room will be available via Discord for attendees to communicate with others. Attendees can experience the festival on either desktop/mobile, and those unfamiliar with the block-building game can attend a Rave Family Training Camp prior to the festival to get a quick and easy crash-course. You’ll learn all the basics from getting around and knowing how to use special items to even swimming!

Support Your Favourite Artist And Donate To A Cause

During the game itself, festival-goers can also donate to charities including Black Lives Matter, The Bail Project and environmental movement ByeByePlastic. The festival will donate 5% of its profits to these organisations.

To ensure that rights holders are paid for the use of their music in the festival, Electric Blockaloo has partnered with streaming platform Mixcloud.
