Round up your bags and pack your friends, because Pentaport Rock Festival is happening again from 9 to 11 August 2019. Held annually in Incheon, South Korea, Pentaport Rock Festival is one of the biggest live music events in South Korea and sees the culmination of several sensational acts from around the world. The festival covers various genres of music, but mainly rock, pop and electronic.
Since its debut in 2006, Pentaport has played host to the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, Psy, Muse, Hoobastank, Dua Lipa, Bastille, Simple Plan, Skid Row and many more! Got your attention yet?
Headlining the festival this year is a mixture of old-school hard rock, pop-rock and contemporary indie greats with names such as The Vamps, The Fray, Two Door Cinema Club, Steelheart as well as a wide repertoire of local and regional acts.
You better bring your energy, and lots of it, because for 3 days straight from dusk till dawn, you’ll be rocking out like there’s no tomorrow.
Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival’s Line-Up
Marking its 13th anniversary this year, Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival has stepped up to become one of South Korea’s biggest music festivals. We attribute its roaring success to its excellent track record of inviting both internationally and domestically popular bands to perform.
The event will feature three separate stages of which different artistes will perform. The ‘Main Stage’—the festival’s largest stage—will be where the bigger performers such as legendary rock band, Steelheart, The Fray, Two Door Cinema Club, Weezer and The Vamps will perform whereas the ‘Sub Stage’ & ‘Third Stage’ will be reserved for alternative genres and smaller bands.
No Cash or Cards Allowed
In the venue, every payment including but not limited to food and drinks must be made through a special currency in the form of the KB Kookmin Card, Incheon E-Um Card and LIIV Mate App.
The E-Um Card is a local currency which is used only within Incheon. There will be booths located around the event venue for you to purchase prepaid cards for food and beverages. Alternatively, you can download the E-Um Card App on your phone, connect it to a bank account and purchase stuff as per normal.
Getting to Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival
To get to Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, take the subway line Incheon 1 to International Business District Station. Exit via ‘exit 5’ and carry on walking until you arrive at the park. There are clear signs that will guide you there with relative ease but if in doubt, do approach one of the subway staff.
