Steak on a hotplate is yummy and so is a refreshing salad on the side to cut through it, sandwich the two together with a freshly-baked bun and that right there is a recipe your soul will thank you for be it night or day. Burgers are fundamental to modern cuisine. Sure, indulging in one may render all the time you spent at the gym worthless but sometimes it’s what the soul needs, and who are we to deny ourselves such pleasures every once in a while?
The gourmet burger scene in Hong Kong may seem small but boy does it command a crowd. Whether it’s a classic cheeseburger you’re hankering after or something with a little more oomph, this list will surely help.
1. Beef & Liberty Burgers (Hong Kong International Airport)
The name finds its origins from 18th century Britain during a time where leading members of London society used to gather in beef-steak clubs to partake in great food and fine booze. Their burgers are top-notch but what makes them really stand out is the quality of beef they source. The good folks here source their beef from Scotland, making sure to only use high-quality Scottish Highland Cattle to craft their burger patties.
The result? Happy, energetic cows which translate to leaner, tastier meat which are higher in an assortment of vitamins and essential fatty acids. Pairing meat of such high quality with expert culinary technique, the end result is more often than not sublime.
