Ranked as Asia’s best bar for the two consecutive years, Manhattan Bar is a must-visit when you are in Singapore. The ultra grand Manhattan-themed cocktail bar is located on the second floor of five-star Regent Hotel. We have actually visited the award-winning cocktail bar a whopping ten times since it officially opened its doors in 2014.
The verdict: We are definitely coming back to Manhattan Bar for more drinks.
As its name implies, Manhattan Bar draws its inspiration from the Big Apple. Its elegant interiors are intentionally designed to mimic the grandeur of New York City in its 1920s. Indeed, the bar is almost like a scene from highly acclaimed novel The Great Gatsby! Sexy and swanky, Manhattan Bar is ideal for a romantic post-dinner date night venue.
Cocktails at Manhattan Bar
The cocktail menu is a wonderful exploration of NYC’s different eras. From the 1520s to 1990s, we were blown away by the list of meticulously curated alcoholic concoctions. Admittedly, the extensive drinks menu makes the selection albeit tough, but our go-to signature creations, namely New York Sour (S$25++), Manhattan (S$25++) and Uptown Girl (S$24++) never fail to put a smile on our faces.
Manhattan Bar isn’t just a pretty face. The nightlife institution also boasts the world’s first in-hotel rick house, a selection of gourmet bar bites and an impressive collection of home made ingredients. Despite having made 10 trips here, we have yet to tick off every item off the comprehensive menu! Perhaps the best way to sample everything would be to attend their adults-only cocktail brunch (held every Sunday).
Adults-only Cocktail Brunch
Manhattan Bar’s adults-only cocktail brunch is Singapore’s very first – and guests are entitled to unlimited beers, cocktails and wines, alongside free-flow bar nosh. We are talking about glorious food such as freshly shucked oysters, Maine lobsters and foie gras chocolate bars! The extravagant buffet costs S$150++ per person. It is pricey, but it will be worth it. Foodies will certainly be impressed with such an indulgent treat.
Here is another insider tip: Visit Manhattan Bar during their Violet Hour (between 5 to 7pm, from Monday to Saturday), and you get to enjoy a complimentary cheese sandwich with every drink ordered. The tastiest savoury popcorn is also served to guests throughout the night.
