From the back bar, treat what ales you with their repertoire of house-infused libations. Being a small business, Algae Bar accepts cash payment only. 3. Bar TCRC – The Checkered Record Club
Located directly opposite the Grand Matsu Temple, TCRC (The Checkered Record Club) is a trendy cocktail bar that boasts a snazzy speakeasy appeal, indie music, vibrant cocktails and low-key vibes. Set in a preserved historic home, the bar boasts wooden counter-to-ceiling shelves displaying over 300 whisky labels.
Service is impeccable, though mainly in Mandarin. So unless you can speak conversational Mandarin, you might have to do quite a bit of pointing and seeking the help of Google Translate. Once that’s sorted, you’ll find that every drink that’s made is created with finesse. Feeling hungry? Barbecue skewers can be arranged to be brought over from a nearby street stall.
