Hello darkness, my old friend. With Singapore’s Phase Two (Heightened Alert) measures in place, dine-in is once again prohibited. Note: Until 13 June 2021. While regulations are admittedly more lenient than Circuit Breaker’s… Let’s face it. Nothing can really replace the thrill of drinking in a cocktail bar, right?
That said, we are super glad that the timely launch of Temple Street has made our stay-home nights better. Read on to find out what we are talking about!
Following the rise in demand for alcohol across Singapore during the Circuit Breaker period, Joseph Barratt, founder/CEO of Trouble Brewing, partnered with Creative Director of Proof & Company, Jason Williams, to produce these single-pour artisanal cocktails. Paying homage to the old-meets-new spirit, the inspiration behind these 100ml single-pour cocktails was to allow customers to enjoy cocktails in the comfort and convenience of home.
“The idea for Temple Street was conceived at the height of Singapore’s Circuit Breaker, when we were selling tens of thousands of imported cocktails. The experience gave us great insight into consumers’ preferences for ready-to-pour options; but we struggled to find a local supplier that covered our need for quality, affordability and production capacity. So, we worked with some of the best experts in Singapore to produce hand-crafted cocktails, creating an old-meets-new selection of drinks that blends tradition and modernity in all the best ways,” shared Barratt.
The first four drinks from Temple Street’s debut collection include the Espresso Martini, Garden Party, Negroni and Old Fashioned. During the launch, Jason demonstrated how the cocktails were prepared using various ingredients before we tried the cocktails straight from the bottle.
Note: We attended the preview before P2HA.
Espresso Martini
The Espresso Martini was indulgent and aromatic. Made using allpress coffee, this wheat vodka-based cocktail has flavours akin to tiramisu which would appeal to coffee fanatics. To serve this, simple shake the bottle hard let it rest for awhile before pouring into a chilled glassware. Want to make it picture perfect for the gram? Garnish with three coffee beans and voila!
Garden Party
Refreshing and fruity, the Garden Party is best enjoyed with fresh mint and a lemon squeeze. Concocted with wheat vodka, floral vermouth and peach liqueur; then mixed with lychee essence, mint and lime, this is unsurprisingly the crowdpleaser of the lot.
Negroni
Slightly bitter with a hint of chocolate, Temple Street’s Negroni is lighter and easier on the palate. It is best enjoyed with an orange zest to accentuate its fragrance. Using London dry gin, Italian bitter, sweet Vermouth and a dash of chocolate liqueur, it is best drunk when poured over a block of ice.
Old Fashioned
Finally, the Old Fashioned was smooth and easy to enjoy. Boasting a slight bitterness accompanied by a pleasant sweetness, this rum-based cocktail is best served with orange zest.
These cocktails can be bought on the Trouble Brewing website for $11.00 per bottle. Islandwide same-day delivery will be available for all orders placed before 5PM (Sunday-Wednesday) and 7PM (Thursday-Saturday). Complimentary delivery is free for all orders above $60.
Enjoying craft cocktails in the comforts of our homes has become much more accessible with Temple Street’s ready-to-pour cocktail.
