One of Upper Thomson’s longest-standing eateries, The Roti Prata House is one of the few supper spots in the area that remains widely patronised by folks of all ages.
Their menu, like most Indian-Muslim establishments, boasts an extensive selection of items from the humble roti prata, maggi goreng, nasi goreng, briyani, murtabak, kambing (mutton) soup to many more quirky creations—think durian prata.

An eatery that remains fairly consistent with generally quick service (on most days anyway) to boot, here are a few reasons why this late-night supper spot warrants a visit—assuming that you haven’t already.
A must-try at The Roti Prata House: Crispy Plain Prata (S$0.90)

Despite their many innovative renditions to the traditional roti prata, we always find ourselves gravitating back to the basics with the humble, Crispy Plain Prata (S$0.90).
Served fresh off the hob (thankfully), the edges were seared to a brownish crisp and the dough itself possessed a sweet, bread-like flavour.
Another recommended item: Egg Prata ($1.60)

If you are the sort that prefers his or her roti prata with a little more fluff, then definitely go for the Egg Prata (S$1.60).
Crispy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside, this version goes exceptionally well with a dab of sugar and a drizzle of fish curry.
Still hungry? Order their Maggi Goreng (S$3.50)

Greasy and brimming with a deep, smoky aroma, the way a good plate of Maggi Goreng should, theirs was decent without being overly oily.
Costing S$3.50 for a decently sized portion, it hits the spot with its mildly spiced and savoury taste. While we would have preferred if it was a tad spicier, we were still rather pleased with it.
Extensive drink selection at The Roti Prata House

As if their options for food weren’t extensive enough, their drink menu proves just as huge spanning the humble Teh Tarik (S$1), Milo Dinosaur (S$2.50) to many other elaborate creations.
