Previously located in Kreta Ayer, 49 Seats has since then relocated to a bigger and better unit inside The Centrepoint. The restaurant specialises in western cuisine with a unique twist, where you can expect Asian-inspired creations such as Tom Yum Seafood Pasta and Old Fashioned Fish and Chips served with Tom Yum sauce.
49 Seats opens till 5:00 AM every Friday and Saturday!
From Monday to Thursday, the restaurant opens till 2:30am, making it a great supper spot throughout the week.
The spacious interior exudes a rustic charm with silverware plastered all over the walls. The ambience sets the mood for a hearty meal – whether you are here for a casual get together or for late-night supper.
Soup of the Day – Tomato Soup
We ordered the Soup of the Day (S$5.90) as an appetiser to start our meal. The tomato soup was a little diluted, and we would have preferred it to be a tad more concentrated.
The best way to enjoy the soup? Dip the crispy and fragrant garlic bread into the broth!
Next, we had the Tom Yum Seafood Pasta (S$14.90) – a combination of al dente pasta tossed in a generous amount of Tom Yum sauce.
Tom Yum Seafood Pasta
Thick and creamy, the rich tom yum sauce was cooked with coconut milk and lemongrass. What stood out was the freshness of the seafood – both prawns and mussels were cooked till tender and bouncy. Together with the spaghetti that was firm to the bite, we were very satisfied.
If you looking for a fiery kick, opt for the Level 49 Spicy Tom Yum Pasta when ordering at the cashier. Considering how the Tom Yum Pasta we ordered was already pretty spicy, we believe that the Level 49 option will send you into a frenzy from the chilli padi.
