One of the most anticipated music festivals in the Singapore, Baybeats Festival is a free annual music event that showcases the talent of both homegrown and regional musicians.
A salute to some of Singapore’s top bands and also those who are just only beginning to come to light, this year’s event will be happening from 23 to 25 August 2019 and will feature a total of four live stages in and around the Esplanade area.
Building upon the repertoire of underground bands and hidden talents, Baybeats has curated yet another compelling line-up of local and international talents across Asia to steer this year’s festival towards a massive celebration.
As we inch closer to this highly-anticipated music event, there are a few things to get majorly stoked about. For one, it was recently announced that for the first time at Baybeats, a stage will be erected at the Esplanade Forecourt Garden.
Named the LiveWire Stage, this new venue will feature an eclectic array of sounds including indie rock, hip hop, psychedelic rock, math rock, funk and more.
The festival will also be bringing back the Open Stage, which made its debut in 2016. Positioned at the end of the Esplanade Forecourt Garden closer to the Jubilee Bridge, the stage will feature unplugged sets, giving new and younger musicians an opportunity to also be a part of Baybeats.
Baybeats receives tons of applications from bands from all over the country every year, but you can rest assured that the organisers curate only the best performers.
This year, look forward to the likes of post-hardcore band Tell Lie Vision, Shye, Stopgap, acts from around the region such as Slapshock (Philippines) and Moja (Japan) as well as fresh faces, Cinnamon Persimmon and Plate—both are Baybeats budding bands.

That is because events by them are always guaranteed to have you rocking out with a passion, nodding to the glorious, nostalgic era of our teenage years fuelled by gut-busting, angst-ridden music.
During this year’s Baybeats Festival, attendees can look forward to the return of the misfits behind EMONIGHTSG on day 1 at the Esplanade Annexe Studio.
