Gin-lover or not, Hendrick’s Gin should be a familiar name to anyone who enjoys a tipple or two. Hendrick’s is one of the most popular and sought-after brands when it comes to gin and needs no introduction.
The unique taste of rose and cucumber is the brainchild of Hendrick’s Master Distiller Ms. Lesley Gracie. The gin-ius recipe is made with a complex concoction featuring 11 other botanicals; namely juniper, coriander, orange, lemon, angelica, orris root, cubeb berries, caraway seeds, chamomile, elderflower, and yarrow.
This household brand has recently launched a pleasantly light and exquisitely crisp incarnation of Hendrick’s Gin—the Midsummer Solstice. Read on to find out more!
About Hendrick’s Gin
The cucumber and rose petal-infused spirits, in unison with a blend of 11 botanicals, produces a wonderfully refreshing gin with a floral aroma.
What further sets their spirits apart is how they are being distilled, which is through two—not just one—sorts of stills: The Bennett, an antique copper pot dating right back to 1860, and the Carter-Head, hailing from 1948. The Bennett steeps the botanicals in spirit overnight prior to distillation; whereas the Carter-Head gently steams the botanicals in a basket atop its neck. The result? A lighter, more delicate spirit that’s strikingly smooth.
Limited-Edition Midsummer Solstice
Hendrick’s newest limited-edition Midsummer Solstice gin is a bright and floral concoction inspired by the sensory power of nature during the Summer solstice when the Earth is tilted maximally toward the Sun.
Think of a summer’s bloom, but taking the form of gin—this refreshing concoction is intensely floral with fragrant, zesty juniper notes and undertones of orange blossom.
The Midsummer Solstice gin’s deep floral character makes the expression pleasantly refreshing in a host of mixed drinks and cocktails!
