The inaugural Japan HopFest, happening in Singapore on 11 to 12 April 2026, is set to be a landmark celebration of Japanese craft beer culture. Held at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, the festival brings together some of Japan’s most sought-after craft breweries, many of which rarely showcase their beers outside their home country. For craft beer lovers, it offers a rare opportunity to experience their experimental brews and meet the makers behind them.
At the heart of the festival is an impressive lineup of renowned breweries. Hopheads will be thrilled to hear that Uchu Brewing is part of the festival. Famous for its highly coveted hazy IPAs and fruit-forward smoothie sours, often described as intensely aromatic and “cosmic” in flavour. Alongside them is West Coast Brewing, known for bold, hop-forward beers ranging from crisp West Coast IPAs to indulgent dessert stouts.
Another highlight is Totopia Brewery, celebrated for its experimental approach and each beer is named after a different human phobia or philia. They will be showcasing their range of IPAs at Japan HopFest. Meanwhile, Vertere offers a more refined experience, with elegant saisons, botanical-inspired brews, and balanced IPAs crafted using pristine mountain water from Tokyo’s outskirts.
The lineup also features Setouchi Beer, which incorporates local Japanese ingredients such as citrus from the Seto Inland Sea, resulting in bright, refreshing, coastal-inspired brews. Kyoto Brewing Co. adds a unique twist with Belgian-inspired ales infused with Japanese precision, producing complex yet highly drinkable beers. Additionally, Asobi Beer brings a lighter, more playful dimension with easy-drinking and citrus-forward brews.
Beyond craft beers, Japan HopFest promises a full sensory experience with curated food pairings, live DJs, and a vibrant festival atmosphere. Ultimately, the event is more than just a beer event. It is a cultural exchange that showcases Japan’s creativity, craftsmanship, and passion for brewing, making it one of the most exciting new festivals in Singapore’s calendar.
