6 Late-Night Prawn Mee Stalls in Singapore: Michelin-rated & More

Prawn noodles are without a doubt one of Singapore’s most beloved local dishes. It’s a dish that’s approachable, comforting and fundamentally perfect for any time of the day. The dish itself might seem simple—just a noodle dish with prawns, pork and sometimes slices of fish cake—but it’s not.

The sheer amount of time, effort and ingredients that go into making the broth is insanely tedious and it’s the ones that really go the extra mile to curate the best possible ingredients that really stand out, which in hindsight, makes putting this list together fairly straightforward. Open till late and serving up prawn noodles that’ll seriously put your mood in a good spot before bed, here is a list of 6 late-night prawn mee stalls in Singapore worth visiting.

1. Chaoyang Prawn Noodle

While some might argue that Chaoyang Prawn Noodle’s broth may lack a strong flavour, we actually find it satisfactory. Satisfactory at its affordable price point and the fact that they are relatively generous when it comes to their ingredients. Their prawns are succulent and plump and we adore the fact that they offer several other ingredients as well ranging from pacific clams, pork ribs and the pig’s tail. They operate until 1 AM daily.

2. Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Mee

Operated by a young couple along Killiney Road, Da Shi Jia Prawn Mee is a prawn noodle eatery that offers prawn noodles that are a notch higher. Prices aren’t the most affordable around but what you do get for the price you pay is premium quality seafood cooked to utmost perfection in a heady, umami-packed broth. If you’d rather opt for something saucer with a good amount of oomph, definitely order their Da Shi Jia Wok Fried Big Prawn White Bee Hoon.

Address: 89 Killiney Rd, Singapore 239534

Having recently been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand, Fresh Taste Big Prawn Noodle in Zion Riverside Food Centre is one that you can rely on to provide you with a decent bowl of prawn noodles. Their prawn mee is decent by most people’s standards in that you’ve got a heady prawn and pork-based broth, sizeable prawns and tasty noodles—just what the doctor ordered on a cold, possibly rainy, night.

Address: Zion Riverside Food Centre, 70 Zion Rd, Singapore 247792
Opening Hours: 6PM – 10.30PM (Tue, Wed & Fri), 12PM – 3PM, 6PM to 11.30PM, 6PM – 1AM (Sun), Closed on Mondays

4. Hock Prawn Mee

This 24-hr prawn noodle stall is a hidden gem tucked away in Jalan Besar. Their reputation is well-founded but the irony is that people tend to prefer their pork rib noodles as opposed to their prawn noodles. The reason lies in the fact that they use really small prawns that are neither flavourful nor texturally appealing. That aside, their prawn noodle broth ranks high among some of the best and the dish as a whole is just sublime. We recommend opting for the dry version to really get a kick out of their homemade chilli.

Address: 43 Jln Besar, Singapore 208804
Opening Hours: 24-Hrs (Daily)
Nearest MRT Station: Rochor

5. River South (Hoe Nam) Prawn Noodles

The crème de la crème of prawn noodle stalls in Singapore, River South (Hoe Nam) Prawn Noodles don’t mess around when it comes to their intensely flavoured prawn broth coupled with their variety of premium ingredients of which you can mix and match to create your perfect bowl. We typically go for the dry version with big prawns and pork ribs. Crowned as one of Singapore’s best, there’s no surprise as to why. Their soup is seriously off the charts and its so well-loved that they even had to begin charging people a full dollar for top-ups—ouch.

Address: 31 Tai Thong Cres, Singapore 347859
Opening Hours: 6AM – 2PM, 6PM – 1AM (Tue to Sat), 6AM – 2PM (Sun), Closed on Mondays
Nearest MRT Station: Potong Pasir

If you’re hankering after a solid bowl of prawn and pork rib noodles, especially one that doesn’t charge exorbitantly for it. Head over to Pek Kio Market & Food Centre for there lies a stall there that’s been around for ages now with prices that are so affordable for what it’s worth you’ll almost feel scammed by the others you’ve tried.

Granted the prawns they give are a lot smaller, which is no doubt an issue for folks who love a good chunky prawn, these folks more than compensate for with their heady and flavoursome soup. Our personal preference would be to opt for kway teow instead of the conventional mee pok as you get to taste their homemade chilli concoction better.

Address: 41A Cambridge Road, Pek Kio Market & Food Centre, #01-41
Opening Hours: 6AM – 2PM (Sat to Thu), Closed on Tuesdays & Fridays
