Situated in the heartland precinct of Lorong Ah Soo, Lickers is a popular artisanal ice cream parlour. It opens till 2am daily (note: closed on Mondays) and is frequented by youngsters and ice cream lovers.
Characterised by illuminated neon signs, long wooden communal tables and a wall filled with modernist artwork, you can immediately feel its youthful energy surging through as you walk in.
The vibe at Lickers is warm and welcoming and the ice cream is decadent. Run by a team of artisans who are passionate about making good ice cream, you can trust that you’re in good hands! In short, their range of flavours may not be the most extensive around, but they sure do excite.
Their ice cream selection may be limited, but for what they lack in variety, they more than compensate in quality.
All their ice cream flavours undergo several rounds of experimentation before making it to the display counter. They also only make them in small batches to ensure consistency. True enough, their ice cream is fresh, velvety smooth and creamy.
We got ourselves a Waffle topped with two premium ice creams, Oolong Lavender and Dark Chocolate, which came up to S$11.60 in total.
The Oolong Lavender has a rich, fragrant tea flavour to it coupled with a fresh, earthy and subtly herbaceous tone from the lavender. The initial taste will confuse you, but after a few mouthfuls in, your palate will grow to appreciate its floral profile—at least ours did.
The Dark Chocolate didn’t disappoint either. The taste of pure chocolate was pronounced, boasting a subtle bitterness that was nicely underscored by a tinge of sweetness. It paired exceptionally well with the freshly-made waffle.

A humble haunt that teems with life in the middle of an otherwise sultry neighbourhood, this humble artisanal ice cream joint is a godsend for the residents living there, especially those who love themselves a sweet treat.
