Singapore Supper Guide: 8 Dessert Spots That Open Till Past Midnight

Craving for desserts at 1:00am, or even at an unearthly 5:00am? Not a problem, if you are in Singapore. Supper is such a norm amongst Singaporeans, and in recent years the nation has witnessed an ever-growing demand for late-night sweet treats. To our surprise, most people seem clueless when it comes to the Lion City’s availability of desserts during the wee hours.

Mind you, we are not talking about specialty dessert shops that open only until midnight. In fact, we are referring to dessert spots that stay open till way past 12am! Yes, it is possible to dig into freshly cooked waffles and Korean bingsu at literally any time of the day if you are in Singapore – because a few of these places operate 24/7 daily.

2am:dessertbar might be tucked away in an inconspicuous corner of Holland Village, but it certainly faces no lack of customers. Celebrity pastry chef Janice Wong owns this sleek dessert bar; the young Singaporean female chef is revered for her unique abstract edible dessert creations and was the guest judge of MasterChef Australia Season 7.

As its name suggests, 2am:dessertbar opens till 2:00 am every day. The Chocolate H20 (S$22++) and Green Tea Tart (S$20++) are our personal favourites. The former is made with 65% Valrhona dark chocolate, salted caramel, yuzu sorbet, and the latter is a matcha tart served with Jasmine rice sherbet and yuzu kalamansi gel. So damn pretty and delicious!

Coffeesmith is located on the first floor of Orchard Gateway and the coffee chain is open 24/7. Although the air-conditioned Korean cafe pales drastically in comparison to its Garosugil outlet in Seoul, it remains popular amongst tertiary students and the workaholics. With an abundance of power points, we can totally understand why this work-friendly café is their go-to cafe.

Order a Cappuccino Waffle (S$13.90) or a Smith Waffle (S$9.90), and wash it down with a fragrant Sweet Potato Latte. A selection of cakes is available too, namely Hokkaido Milk Chocolate Mille Crepe ($7.90), New York Cheesecake ($8.50) and Seasalt Caramel ($7.90). With so many desserts available, you can virtually survive a sleepless night on intermittent sugar rush.
