Nov 2022: What to Drink in Singapore (New Bars and Launches)

Singapore New Bars october

The alcohol scene in Singapore is making an epic comeback and imbibers like ourselves are fully embracing it. It was only months ago that the Lion City finally lifted its 10:30pm drinking laws. Let’s hope we never have to live through that again!

From Las Palmas Rooftop Bar in Novena, Ginger.Lily’s launch of 17 spirit-forward cocktails to the arrival of Wakefield Taylors Masterstroke series, here’s what you should be drinking this month.

Las Palmas Rooftop Bar: Downtown LA vibes in Novena

Las Palmas Bar Interior Novena

Las Palmas Rooftop Bar is perched on level 33 of Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena. Designed by Emma Maxwell Design, a luxurious interiors specialist, the bar exudes fabulous downtown LA vibes and boasts spellbindingly beautiful city views! You know you’re in good hands when the drinks menu is curated by Proof and Company expertly executed by award-winning bartender Ron Aransay.

Kickstart your day or evening with Las Palmas Rooftop Bar’s signature caffeinated tipple, Let’s Irish Up That Coffee ($25++) which features Irish Whiskey, coffee liqueur, cold brew and oat milk vanilla. For something stronger sans caffeine, opt for cocktail creations under their Strong & Brooding section, such as Nighthawks ($25++) or L.A. Confidential ($25++).

Ginger.Lily is situated on the fifth level of the newly revamped Hilton Singapore Orchard Hotel. Helmed by Head Mixologist Michael Mendoza, the bar’s extensive drinks menu ‘Bloom’, boasts 17 spirit-forward, botanical-inspired craft cocktails. Visually stunning tipples such as never-seen-before inventions and unique renditions of classics await!

In Full Bloom ($22++) and Birds & The Bees ($30++) are two of their bestselling creations. The former sees a medley of herbs and fruits steeped in Rinquinquin (a white wine-based peach aperitif) in a Porthole infuser. The latter features a tropical concoction of pineapple, jackfruit & passionfruit, topped with Aberfeldy Whisky and served with a block of honeycomb.

A concept by En Dining Group, Ka-EN Grill & Sushi Bar sits on the ground floor of The Capitol Kempinski. We love its comprehensive menu which offers a wide range of Japanese dishes; as well as a sake list that covers the various prefectures of Japan. It’s also worth mentioning that the new establishment opens till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Regardless of whether you prefer your sake hot or cold, light or rich, sweet or spicy, there’s surely something that will catch your fancy here! Still can’t decide?
