1. Bon Iver Live in Singapore

Marking a stellar return since their sold-out debut back in 2016, the iconic indie outfit from Eau Claire, Wisconsin will be performing live in sunny Singapore as part of their 2020 tour.

Set to return with a bang, the American indie-folk outfit is set to take over The Star Theatre on 17 January 2020 for a one-night-only spectacular, presenting an emotive setlist boasting a compilation of popular hits and songs off their critically-acclaimed 2019 release, “i,i”.

2. Cé La Vi Presents DJ Jazzy Jeff

Gear up for an epic evening of hip-hop mayhem as critically-acclaimed American record producer, DJ Jazzy Jeff graces the decks at Singapore’s premier rooftop destination, Cé La Vi.

The artist is best known for his collaboration with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince and is widely praised by renowned rap artists such as Eminem, Kanye West and Busta Rhymes for his insane turntable abilities and rad beats.

3. Chinatown CNY Celebrations

Usher in the year of the rat with a bang of glamour, pretty decorations and enough festive spirit to tide you through the entire Chinese New Year duration.

From 4 January 2020 until 22 February 2020, look forward to a myriad of activities specially curated for both the young and the old to enjoy.

There’ll be a massive countdown party happening on 24 January 2020, a festive street bazaar happening throughout the month of January 2020 and nightly shows embodying Chinese arts and culture and even a lion dance competition. In addition to that, folks can marvel at the many elaborate lights and installations scattered throughout Chinatown.

4. Chingay Parade 2020

The Mandarin word, ‘Chingay’ refers to the art of costume and masquerade. Here in Singapore, the Chingay Parade started in 1973 as a street parade to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year but has since evolved into an annual iconic event that showcases Singapore’s rich and unique multi-ethnic and cosmopolitan cultures. In 2015, as part of the nation-wide SG50 Celebrations, Chingay 2015 presented the largest showcase in its history with 11,000 performers and 18 magnificent floats.

This year, as always, attendees can expect a dazzling ensemble of colours, elaborate designs and a multitude of talented acts that will prove to be even better than the last. Visitors will also get to see the world’s longest and biggest flying dragon at this year’s Chingay Parade.

5. Lewis Capaldi Live in Singapore 2020

The critically acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter, famous for his hit single ‘Someone You Loved’ will be performing a show here in Singapore for the very first time. Lewis Capaldi has the kind of voice that needs little accompaniment to create a deep and lasting impact.

On his full-length debut, ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’, the Scottish singer/songwriter offers up a dozen songs showcasing his raw yet captivating vocals accompanied by melodic piano work that hits you right in the feels. Be sure to bring along a box of tissues just in case!

6. Light to Night Festival

For two weeks between 10 to 19 January 2020, art will extend beyond the walls of the Civic District’s cultural institutions into the precinct’s public spaces, transforming them with light, sound and movement.

The fourth edition of Light To Night is based on the theme ‘Invisible Cities’. The array of programmes—which span from day to night—will take place across five of the Civic District’s most iconic cultural institutions—National Gallery Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum, The Arts House, Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay—and will encompass a series of awe-inspiring visuals derived from the creativity and imagination of various artists.

7. Of Monsters & Men Live In Singapore 2020


Recognised as one of the best indie groups of the current era, the Icelandic-based indie-folk quintet first exploded into the music scene and etched itself onto charts all over the world with their hit single, Little Talks. After retreating into hiding for some years, they returned with their third studio album, Fever Dream, which presented a new synth-pop vibe to it. The group will perform at Fort Canning Green for one-night-only on 18 January 2020.

8. River Hongbao 2020

The Chinese Lunar Year is an occasion that calls for countless celebration and one event that certainly cannot be missed is the River Hongbao.

Regarded as the largest, most anticipated Lunar New Year event of every year, this year’s event will feature special choreographed fireworks, interactive exhibits and intricate handmade lanterns. The event will be packed with exciting fringe activities, games and performances to keep everyone entertained regardless of race, religion and age.

9. Singapore Art Week

Singapore Art Week is an annual celebration of visual arts which takes place in the month of January each year. The nine-day celebration happing between 11 to 19 January 2020 at SAM (Singapore Art Museum) offers artists, collectives, organisations and other art intermediaries a visible platform for showcasing a range of quality visual arts projects, discussions, and exhibitions to both locals and international audience alike.

Throughout the 9-day duration of the art festival, you can look forward to exhibitions galore, interactive workshops, tours and an array of captivating augmented reality art pieces scattered in and around the city district.

10. #Futuretogether at Gardens by the Bay

Come witness an astounding collection of light and art installations that will liven up the beautiful nature park starting mid-December. Entitled, #futuretogether, this collaboration between Gardens by the Bay and GIC, art by teamLab, in support of the Singapore Bicentennial will showcase immersive and interactive art exhibitions.

With the simplicity of touch alone, visitors can trigger aural and colours in the hundreds of spheres floating on ‘Dragonfly Lake’, and spur the blooming and scattering of flowers over the lattice structure at Bayfront Plaza. All that and many more.

11. Steve Aoki Live At Marquee Singapore

Another hot act to catch this January is founder of Dim Mak Records and DJ, Steve Aoki. Known for his crazy antics both on and off stage—caking faces ring any bells?—Steve Aoki is one of the hottest DJs in the industry, having released several Billboard-charting studio albums and also being nominated for Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album in 2013.

He’s collaborated with artists such as Afrojack, BTS, LMFAO, Linkin Park and many other huge artists.
