Penfolds has landed in Singapore with Penfolds: Terminal 1844, a space-themed pop-up that invites all wine lovers near and far to Venture Beyond with them.
Fun fact: The number 1844 was used because that’s the year Penfolds was founded, that’s over 175 years of winemaking!
Exhibition: Penfolds Popup at Great World City
Explore the space shuttle-shaped exhibition ongoing from now until 4 July 2022 at the Great World City Atrium (L1). It features interactive displays, Penfolds’ limited-edition thematic gift boxes; as well as wine tasting sessions where visitors can enjoy a flight of Penfolds’ ‘House Style’ wines.
In the Interstellar-like shuttle, you’ll find displays that look like the console of a space shuttle. Press the buttons to uncover the tasting notes and flavour profiles of Penfolds’ wines.
Limited-edition Thematic Gift Boxes
The stars of the pop-up are, of course, the iconic Bin 389, a.k.a. Baby Grange, the Bin 8 and Max’s. From pioneering astronauts to futuristic rockets, each limited-edition thematic gift box is an expression of space, planets, and galaxies. They signify Penfolds’ ongoing thirst to venture beyond, rather than accepting the status quo.
The Bin 389 is encased in a metallic rocket tin to showcase the deep-rooted desire to explore the unknown, which is space. Theatrical and surprising, the rocket tins and moon crater tins are designed to capture the imagination of wine lovers and can be collected as keepsakes.
Penfolds has commissioned Australian illustrator, Jason Solo, to bring the space thematic to life by interpreting the Venture Beyond concept in a playful, luxurious way. He uses his refined style full of intricate details, paired with striking colour palettes and dynamism — to develop the artwork for Penfolds Max’s thematic gift boxes. You’ll notice different astronauts on the boxes; each represents the Penfolds DNA – courage, determination and innovation.

Tasting at Penfolds Terminal 1844
With every $150 spent on any Penfolds wine in a single receipt*, you’ll get to taste a flight of Penfolds’ ‘House Style’ wines (worth $38)! The flight includes: Bin 389 (2019); Bin 8 (2019); and Max’s Shiraz Cabernet (2019); a lovely line-up, whether you’re a fan or new to the Penfolds’ range of wines.
We particularly loved the Bin 389! A lovely full body, pronounced dark fruits on the palate, and the right amount of tannins to balance the flavours.

Fun fact: The Penfolds: Terminal 1844 is actually an ongoing global pop-up, and while the tag for Singapore states “SIN”, it varies from country to country, so you can actually collect em’ all.
T Galleria by DFS
Apart from the Terminal 1844 pop-up, visitors to T Galleria by DFS can enjoy a tasting of five of Penfolds’ House Style wines. This includes the Penfolds Max’s Rosé 2021, which is making its first foray into Singapore. This tasting will be guided by a professional Sommelier. The Penfolds Max’s Rosé 2021 is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948 – 1975, a legend in Penfolds history.
The Max’s Rosé 2021 is a bright young rosé, crisp and textural with a restrained palate led by red summer fruits and rhubarb. It is available for the first time in Singapore at the pop-up at T Galleria by DFS; before its debut across the island later this year.
