For the first time in Sake Matsuri Singapore’s history, a selection of homegrown “Singapore” labels will be showcased alongside Japanese breweries! Many of them are debuting their sakes to the international market for the first time.

“This is a momentous time in the history of Sake Matsuri. For four years, we have worked hard to raise the level of appreciation of the beverage and finally, at our 9th edition, we have the honour of showcasing several new homegrown sake! This is testament to how much sake has gained popularity here,” – Kevin Ngan, Co-founder of Sake Matsuri Singapore.

Sakes to Look Out For

The Miyanomatsu Misty Origarami Nama is making its inaugural appearance outside of Japan! Crafted with red yeast, this sake is meticulously aged for 18 months at ice-cold temperatures. We absolutely love the Fukuryu Junmai Daiginjo, crafted using Yamada Nishiki rice sourced from Saga’s local farmers. The rice is meticulously polished to 48%, a rarity even among Junmai Daiginjo sakes, known for their refined rice polishing ratios.

Tatenokawa Soube Wase

Another rare, intriguing sake would be the limited stock Tatenokawa Soube Wase, where an ancient rice is revived after 150 years, brewed using a special method that highlights its rich umami flavours, resulting in a smooth sake with complex, layered acidity.

Singaporean Sake Samurai Adrian Goh will be debuting his latest creation TheArtOfSake Junmai Daiginjo Kimoto Henpei EP 1 – The Beginning at the festival. You can also find Singapore’s first sake brewery Orchid Craftworks’ uTama THE 2ND Junmai Shiboritate Nama

Food Vendors & The Otsumami Experience

Of course, no festival is complete without food. The Oyster Card and Ye Olde Cow will be offering delicious grub from food trucks. Attendees can indulge in fresh seafood and smashed dry-aged beef burgers alongside sakes.

Sake Matsuri Food

For an authentic Japanese experience, we recommend partaking in “The Otsumami Experience”, which showcases the tradition of pairing sake with snacks. Dating back to Japan’s Golden Age during the 9th century Heian period, participants can sample over 50 different snacks while uncovering the ideal otsumami for their favourite sake.
