Snow Machine is a brand new boutique four-day alpine music festival taking place in Japan’s largest ski destination of Hakuba. For those who don’t know, Hakuba is a village in the Japanese Alps located just outside the city of Nagano.

Snow Machine’s debut will feature Aussie dance music greats, Peking Duk, Hot Dub Time Machine, Confidence Man and What So Not, as well as acclaimed music artist, Owl Eyes, Young Franco, chart-topper Illy and many more.

Come experience a one-of-a-kind music festival that boasts world-renowned talents performing with idyllic backdrops throughout the Hakuba ski fields. From marvellous mountaintop vistas, cosy après soirees, outdoor village stages and to onsens… This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Snow Machine 2020 will feature huge Australian names including the likes of Peking Duk, Hermitude, Owl Eyes, MC lilly, indie-pop quartet The Jungle Giants, Young Franco, Client Liasion, Art Vs Science, Hot Dub Time Machine as well as lineup of popular Japanese artists such as Kenji Takimi, DJ Kentaro, and Shinichi Osawa.

The Hakuba Valley where the event will be held is about 250 kilometres west of Tokyo in the heart of the Japanese Alps. It’s the most popular ski area in Honshu area and it even hosted the Winter Olympics back in 1998.

The festival will feature multiple stages erected throughout the Hakuba Valley, including one at the resort, a main stage in the Happo-One Village as well as late-night stages located in venues throughout the three main villages, Happo, Echoland, and Wadano.


Getting There – Via Train & Bus


Getting to the event venue from Tokyo itself will take roughly about three to four hours depending on traffic. Festival-goers can board the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo Station to Nagano Station and from there, take a one-hour bus ride to Happo Bus Terminal.
