The Legacy by Taylors Wines: Only 18 bottles are sold in Singapore

Taylors Wines, a family-owned winery in South Australia’s Clare Valley, is known throughout the world for being one of the finest producers of remarkable wine. Since it was established back in 1969, the winery has since won itself more than 3300 medals including 44 Trophies.

Now into its 50th year, the legendary winery is set to release a new wine that it claims is the best it’s ever made—The Legacy. The wine is a cabernet sauvignon-based blend with borrowed characteristics from merlot and cabernet franc grapes.

Only 18 bottles will be made available in Singapore with each bottle retailing at S$1,080. These prized wines will be exclusively available at Bottles & Bottles (Vivocity) on 20 December 2019.

One of the oldest family wineries in the Clare Valley, the Taylor family has crafted award-winning wines for three generations. Quality sits at the helm of the Taylor family’s winemaking philosophy and this commitment has won itself several prestigious accolades around the world.

In 2017, the family ranked number one in the world from more than 50,000 producers and 700,000 wines, by the ‘World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists’ across the top 80 international wine competitions.

A hallmark of the Taylors family legacy, the inaugural release of this extraordinary 50th-anniversary wine is limited to 1,080 bottles. The Legacy comprises 97% estate-grown cabernet sauvignon grapes from Clare, with a little merlot and cabernet franc from Coonawarra.

Tasting Notes

On the nose a polished wonder of red berry fruit, cedar, spice fragrance and perfumed tobacco. Ultimately a very complex bouquet which has many interwoven elements.

The Legacy is a mouth-filling expression of blended Cabernet Sauvignon. Varietal Cabernet is evident with a nutty Cassis drive through the palate and hallmark Cabernet tannins. The blend, however, is delicate yet forceful, has an impeccable length of flavour and ultimately is a very complete wine in the mouth.

Perfume from quality French oak mixes with fragrant concentrated fruit to deliver depth and charm across the palate. The Legacy is crafted to age and in its youth is best enjoyed after decanting.

Masterful Craftsmanship & State-Of-The-Art Tech

The bottle is adorned with a hand-crafted silver and rhodium seahorse medallion which will never tarnish. Housed within a bespoke case, with The Legacy name emblazoned in silver, each bottle is meticulously hand-labelled. It features a first-of-its-kind protective bottle cap and security chip which would enable purchasers of The Legacy to access information about the wine through their smartphone via an app.

Through the same dedicated app, purchasers can also access important security details, confirming that the wine is authentic and unopened. The Legacy will be available for purchase from 20 December 2019.
