Tippling Club Singapore has been making waves in the bartending scene with its progressive edible cocktail menu called “Dreams and Desires”. Featuring 12 different flavoured gummy bears, the eatable menu is the very first of its kind.
Stop pinching yourselves. This is reality in Tippling Club.
The whimsical menu is the brainchild of award-winning bartender Joe Schofield and celebrity chef-owner Ryan Clift. A 10-month research with International Flavours and Fragrances (IFF) Inc. has made this crazy dream an actuality.
What You Can Expect at Tippling Club
Upon being seated, guests are served a green-and-white striped candy paper bag containing a dozen squishy bears. You then have to match the gummies according to the menu’s coloured illustration. This is where all the fun begins!
Pardon our mistake in the above video’s caption, but these lovely gummy bears are actually alcohol-free. Having said that, each gummy bear offers a glimpse of the cocktail it represents – so that you get an idea of its taste before ordering.
What Drinks to Order at Tippling Club
True to its menu’s name, each cocktail is a wonderful exploration of dreams and desires. Bestselling creations at Tippling Club include “Happiness”, “Beauty” and “Indulgence”. These unique alcoholic concoctions are priced at S$24++ each.
“Happiness” is a tequila-based drink infused with yuzu, honey, orange and lemon. The “Beauty” cocktail is concocted with champagne, jerry and jasmine – an edible lipstick is served to complement the creation. How cool is that?
Will We Return to Tippling Club?
While many skeptics have dismissed Tippling Club’s edible gummy-bear menu as a gimmick, we beg to differ. These high quality cocktails are certainly more than just instagram-worthy. After all, we are talking about a highly acclaimed establishment that has remained unfazed by Tanjong Pagar’s soaring rentals. You can’t fake that that level of success.
Despite being Asia’s 7th Best Bar (according to Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018) and the regular haunt of homegrown celebrity Fiona Xie, we are relieved that the famous Tippling Club is a cocktail bar without airs.
P.s. We actually have been to Tippling Club several times in 2014 and 2015 – long before the launch of “Dreams and Desires”. But nothing delighted us as much as the novelty of an edible cocktail menu. We will be coming back for more.
