World Music Festival Taiwan returns this October to Taipei’s Dajia Riverside Park, bringing with it a multitude of class acts. Look forward to 11 award-winning Taiwanese performer groups and 8 international performer groups, coming together in collaboration to create festival that’s unique, vibrant and definitely memorable.
During the 3-day event, delight your senses as you witness an epic intertwining of music genres. With the help of new technology and modern music, musicians from different countries are able to integrate their native sounds. Listen in awe as these melodious cultural tunes blend together. It is what it is—an experimental music orgy.
There will also be an art carnival, street theatre performances, dance workshops, bazaars & more.
At this year’s event, festival-goers can look forward to a wide repertoire of musical performances. Designed to be a cross-cultural musical extravaganza, the event will feature 20 live musical performances from artists from four continents, including 11 award-winning local acts.
Key names to pay attention to include Taiwanese R&B singer, ABAO, Indian folk band, The Raghu Dixit Project along with Latvian bagpipe and drum group, Auli.
Arts & Crafts Bazaar
Happening literally everywhere you wander, let your senses be enthralled by eye-opening street art performances and showcases. This year’s edition sees a grand bazaar boasting over a hundred stalls on-site. There’s even an artistic hairdressing booth for you to get yourself dolled up to be festival-appropriate.
If you’re keen, feel free to attend one of the many dance workshops and lectures. Participants will get to learn more about culture and art from high-profile artists and international curators.
Food Bazaar
Feeling famished in between band sets and workshops? Explore the many vibrant flavours from multiple countries at the many food stalls located throughout the festival ground.
Getting Tickets to World Music Festival Taiwan 2019
For students, pre-sale ticket prices for 1-day passes are priced at 480 TWD (Approx. 15 USD), while adult tickets cost 480 TWD (Approx. 20 USD).
3-day passes for students and adults are 1260 TWD (Approx. 40 USD) and 1470 TWD (Approx. 47 USD) respectively.
