Back for its fifth instalment, the 11-day long Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF) is the largest of its kind in Asia and a must-visit event for all cocktail lovers.

While there will be SGCF events taking place around the Lion City throughout this period, cocktail aficionados should definitely prioritise the Festival Village taking place from 10 – 12 May 2019. Located in front of Victoria Concert Hall at Empress Lawn, the Festival Village is a three-day ticketed event featuring bar pop-ups, celebrity bartender guest shifts and more.

Singapore Cocktail Festival has invited 25 reputable nightlife establishments such as Cin Cin and Nutmeg & Clove to set up bar pop-ups at the Festival Village’s event ground. Doors will open to the public at 4:00 pm and the massive cocktail party will last till 1:00 am (on Friday and Saturday) and 11:00 pm on Sunday. Entrance tickets to the Festival Village start from S$35.

Singapore Cocktail Festival: Drinks at S$12 each

Indulge in artisanal tipples (all cocktails are affordably priced at S$12 each) and catch award-winning bartenders in action. Seize this opportunity to meet renowned Balinese mixologist Raka Ambarawan from The Night Rooster and Vijay Mudaliar from Native Bar. Watch in awe as the bar maestros work their magic and flaunt their skills right before your eyes.

There will also be 20 artisanal spirits tasting booths stationed at the Festival Village’s complex. Treat yourselves to artisanal spirit tastings (S$19 for 4 x 15-ml shots); sample rare spirits from obscure brands and meet their creators! For an even more immersive cocktail experience, register for SGCF’s workshops and learn from the experts.

Cocktails aside, look forward to exciting fringe activities i.e. music performances by Singapore’s veteran DJs, henna painting and a tattoo pop-up booth. No worries if hunger strikes. A top-notch selection of restaurants will be holding pop-ups at the Festival Village, namely Ding Dong, Como Cuisine and Neon Pigeon. 

Rounding off the highlights of the #SGCF2019 Festival Village will be the finals of Barstylez Asia Bartender Championship where talented bartenders from 25 countries compete on Sunday, 12 May 2019.
