Afrodeesiac is a four-day music festival aimed at promoting good vibes and celebrating the rise of authentic African music genres. This year’s party brings the spirit of African music, dance, entertainment and culture to Bangkok’s bustling metropolitan.
A step up from last year’s edition, 2020’s line up features a myriad of established and pioneering artists from around the world. Multiple genres and styles of African music are bound to get you hooked and tapping along in no time. Think, Fusion, Urban Kiz and pure Kizomba, Semba and Afro dances—just to name a few. In addition to music, there’ll be workshops, activities and performances galore.
All in the name of spreading positivity, community and unbridled fun, we implore you to make a trip down to Bangkok to experience this one-of-a-kind music event. Intimate, Uplifting, Happy and Positive—these pillars form the backbone of Afrodeesiac Festival 2020.
What is Afrodeesiac?
“Afrodeesiac” began as a small community pioneering interest towards African culture through entertainment and workshops for people living in Bangkok. The word, “dee”, in Afrodeesiac is taken from the African phrase, ‘sà-nùk dee’, which means to be in a state of happiness.
Afrodeesiac Festival’s Lineup
Afrodeesiac 2020 is an African dance music-focused, featuring 100% Afro, Kizomba, Semba, Tarraxinha, Ghetto Zouk and Urban Kiz—a proper experience for lovers of sensual dance and for those new to the vast array of African music genres.
Dance instructors that’ll be gracing the event to induct you into the afro groove include Eliza Sala and Theodore Awadz. On the decks, look forward to sounds by DJ Fred Maestro, DJ Lindt & many more!
