Bars Singapore

Singapore’s Craft Beer Bars: Tallest Microbrewery, Infusion Beer & More

Singapore has seen a growing trend of craft beer over the years with many local and regional independent brewers coming up with their own unique expressions of the common ale and lager. Encompassing a wide variety of options spanning hoppy IPAs, sweetish fruit beers and more, the possibilities to intrigue your palate are endless.

But just where (and how) do we begin? The best way to understand more about this sorcery that is craft beer—and to know for sure which ones you enjoy most—would be to head to any one of these 14 craft beer bars scattered across the island.

1. Almost Famous Craft Beer BarThe ‘Apple’ store of craft beers

Source: Almost Famous

With a minimalistic concept and a brightly-lit interior, Almost Famous aims to allow guests to focus on the craft beers instead of being distracted by their surroundings.

What we also love is how they have carefully thought out the use of lighting to challenge the stereotype that bars are a man-centric space.

The bar offers 16 rotating taps that are sourced both regionally and internationally. Choose from a selection of craft beers, premium craft beers from in and around the region or the in-house-brewed Almost Famous craft beer that ranges from S$14++ to S$16++.

Every beer here has a backstory – try the Small Monster (S$7/half pint, S$15/full pint), a moniker given to their uncle by his nieces, a robust yet easily drinkable IPA that has a long hop to it.

Some strongly recommended dishes to try are the Pork Belly (S$10++) with crispy crackling that comes with tender succulent meat and the Seasonal Clams Fettuccine (S$24++) with handmade pasta (which, by the way, incorporates the same wheat and barley used for brewing) tossed in rich creamy Teochew bean sauce.
