En Dining Launches Okinawan Brown Sugar Cocktails (till 30 Nov)

En-Dining-Singapore

En Dining is a Japanese restaurant and bar located in the heart of Singapore’s central business district. Operating over the last two decades, En Dining offers a variety of high quality Japanese delights, with different menus ranging from a la carte buffet, fresh sashimi, hotpot shabu shabu and many more; coupled with a selection of cocktails, highballs, beers, sochu and sakes to complete your meal.

To embrace the warmth of fall this season, En Dining has curated a special Autumn menu featuring two brown sugar cocktails and six side dishes using Okinawa’s finest ingredients. This seasonal menu will be available till 30 November 2021.

Okinawan Brown Sugar Cocktails at En Dining

One of the key features of this Japanese eatery is its very own bar that serves classic cocktails with a twist. This fall series features the Okinawan Brown Sugar Cocktails, namely the Old Fashioned ($18) and the Mojito ($15). Brown sugar syrup from Okinawa is used instead of the usual white sugar syrup, giving off a slight smoky sweetness to the drinks and an extra depth to the flavours.

The Old Fashioned is made with Suntory Japanese whisky, topped off with a slice of orange peel and served chilled. If you are someone who prefers stronger spirits and a deeper flavour profile, this drink will be perfect for you.

The Mojito on the other hand is lighter on the palate, with sour and citrusy notes from the lime paired with a touch of sweetness from the rum and brown sugar syrup. This tipple is great to pair with slightly greasier foods on the menu, such as Mozuku Okonomiyaki ($6.80) and Mozuku and Goya Champura Tempura ($6.80).

Mozuku Seaweed Dishes until 30th November 2021

Mozuku Seaweed is Okinawa’s superfood that is full of health benefits, containing lots of minerals and vitamins. This ingredient is featured in three of the dishes in the Autumn menu:

  • Mozukusu ($5.80): Mozuku served with Ponzu sauce; a light and refreshing dish to kickstart your meal
  • Mozuku and Goya Champura Tempura ($6.80): Okinawan Seaweed, Okinawan Bittermelon and Spam served with Okinawan sea salt. A lightly battered tempura dish, with a mix of textures and flavours from the different ingredients.
  • Mozuku Okonomiyaki ($6.80): A pan-fried egg omelette paired with a light soy sauce

Hokkaido Specials

Stepping out of Okinawa, the Autumn menu also offers dishes made with premium ingredients from Hokkaido. A notable dish wouldg be the Aburi Scallop Japanese Carpaccio ($11.80), comprising lightly-seared Hokkaido scallops with yuzu dressing for a nice citrus touch.

En-Dining-Hokkaido-Cold-Sardine

The Hokkaido-themed dish is the Cold Sardine Nanbanzuke ($8.80) that is served cold and uses Hokkaido sardines, marinated with their homemade Japanese sweet and sour sauce and garnished with fresh greens that cuts away the fishiness that sardines would usually have.

Singapore-En-Dining

You may wish to order from their main menu a side thickly-cut fresh Salmon Sashimi ($8.80) paired with a main dish such as the Sakura Ebi Bukakke Udon ($13), a dry udon with Sakura shrimps drizzled with dashi broth to complete your meal.

These seasonal items are only available till 30 November, so head down to En Dining to enjoy these delicacies!
