Bars Singapore Supper

Fish@Bugis+: This Rooftop Prawning & Fishing Joint In Bugis Opens Till 6AM Daily

Perched on the rooftop of Bugis+, Fish@Bugis+ is Singapore’s only indoor air-conditioned fishing and pawning joint that also functions as a bar.

The first of its kind here in Singapore, this is easily something worth considering if you’re not in the mood to hit up a bar or club past midnight, but still want something fun and spontaneous nonetheless. But even if you’re in the mood for a tipple, they have a decent range of beer options available in bottles, jugs and towers.

Out of curiosity, we paid a visit and had an awesome time—despite the fact that we hardly caught anything. Oh, and did we mention? They open until 6:00 am every day!

Getting Started (Prawning)

Considering it was our first time, we admit we were slightly clumsy throughout the process. But it’s actually a pretty straightforward and simple process.

You begin by first renting a rod at the counter. The standard rates are S$18 for an hour, S$29 for two hours and S$35 for three hours. They are currently having a weekday-only promo of S$10 per hour.

The next step is to get yourself bait which comes in the form of diced up chicken hearts. Attach a little bait onto the hook and you’re good to go.

For Here Or To Go?

Once you’re satisfied with your loot, you can proceed to either have them bagged up to take home or you can grill them to enjoy there and then.

Located right outside is a stainless steel grill that visitors can use to cook their prawns.

Help yourself to the salt shaker on the side and believe us you’ll need it. For some reason, despite the fact that the prawns were alive and kicking literally minutes ago, the cooked product tasted somewhat fishy. It might be due to the fact that we forgot to rinse the crustaceans before grilling them.

So yes, please remember to give the prawns a good thorough wash before cooking them!

Long Kang Fishing

A surefire way to detach the little ones from their phone screens is to let them try their hand at fishing. Located right outside is a fish pond filled with guppies and other tiny little fish.

You don’t get to cook and consume those little fishes, but you do get to keep whatever you catch—or whatever your kids catch rather. An activity that requires a decent amount of actual skill, brains and patience, it beats having them glued to Candy Crush all day long. Period.

Relax And Rejuvenate At Their Onsite Fish Spa

In need of some quality R&R? Well, this isn’t it. But they do have fish foot spa pools for you to soak your feet in. Let the fishes nibble away your dead skin cells and exfoliate your feet. We’ve personally never tried it but we heard it’s quite a relaxing experience.

Beer Prices

They carry a relatively limited range of beer but their prices are affordable. A bottle starts from S$8 and a bucket of five is S$30.
