Singapore Supper Guide: 10 Places You Can Eat Nasi Lemak At After 2am

Late-night Nasi Lemak Singapore

Nasi lemak might be Malaysia’s national dish, but Singaporeans love the sedap Malaysian dish just as much. When directly translated, the Malay word sedap means delicious.

So what is nasi lemak? It is a fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves, served with other ingredients such as sambal chilli and eggs. Every eatery has its own rendition, but you usually can customise the nasi lemak with your preferred ingredients.

From Chong Pang Nasi Lemak to Mount Faber Nasi Lemak, here is Uncover Asia’s guide to 10 late-night nasi lemak eateries in Singapore that are still open after 2:00am.

If you haven’t heard, their kecap manis fried chicken is to die for. The poultry is cooked in a special wheat flour batter over medium fire to retain the meat’s juiciness. The succulent deep-fried chicken is then tossed in sweet black sauce and served atop fluffy Thai basmati rice.

Visitors can expect to pay around S$5 to S$7 for a meal here. Just the thought of Bali Nasi Lemak’s food makes my mouth water!

As far as nasi lemak goes, you could try a handful from reputable stalls and chances are you’ll find them all similar to a certain extent. What makes Mizzy Corner stand out though, is their choice of rice. They use long grain basmati rice and boy, does it make all the difference. Their sambal strikes a good balance between sweet and spicy and pairs exceptionally well with their coconut-infused rice.
