COVID-19 might have cancelled all our big plans for 2020… But Warner Music Group remains firm on its stand that “Music is, and will not be cancelled”. The label is proud to announce PlayOn Fest, a first-of-its-kind virtual music event featuring over 60 powerhouse artists. It will be live-streamed over 72 hours for the world to see.
While it will be a live-stream event, don’t expect all artists to be performing from their bedrooms in their pyjamas. No. Instead, Warner Music Group is releasing their archives to showcase epic, some never-before-seen live performances of your favourite big-name acts. While the performances won’t be live per se, many of the performances to be screened have never been released before.
As promised, the line-up is nothing short of pure awesomeness. Viewers can look forward to the likes of Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Paramore, JJ Lin, Coldplay and more! Playon Fest will be broadcasted via Songkick’s YouTube channel starting from 12:00 AM (SGT) on 25 April 2020. The exclusive concert live-stream will feature a different artist every hour till 11:59 PM (SGT) on 27 April 2020.
How You Can Lend Your Support
A multi-genre virtual spectacular to unite the entire world against the global fight against the Coronavirus crisis that has gripped the world, this online Livestream was put together to show support toward the World Health Organisation (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, powered by the UN Foundation.
A music festival for a purpose, viewers can also purchase exclusive merchandise via their website (https://smarturl.it/PlayOnFestStore) to contribute to the cause. All proceeds will go directly to WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Another way viewers can help out is to click-to-donate throughout all three days of the Livestream event. All donations will support WHO’s efforts in combating the pandemic and also provide relief funds for frontline workers and patients, helping them to better fight the virus.
Playon Fest Artist Lineup
The setlist to triumph over all concert setlists, viewers can get majorly stoked for a full cast of some of pop, indie, EDM and hip-hop music’s most iconic names. Beginning at 12:00 AM (SGT) on 25 April, every hour from then on all the way till 11:59 PM (SGT) on 27 April will feature a different artist.
Among the stellar repertoire of curated acts, artists to get stoked for include the likes of punk rock heavyweights; Green Day along with Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Coldplay, Rita Ora, Death Cab For Cutie, Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, SlipKnot, David Guetta, Galantis, Alt-J, JJ Lin, Stereophonics, Bruno Mars, Macklemore, Wiz Khalifa, Clean Bandit, Robin Schulz and Cards B—just to name a few.
