This July, happening in and around Asia are a number of music festivals with some featuring top rock, pop and hip-hop acts and some dedicated to appreciating world music and culture—heck there’s one that’s literally centred around fried chicken and even one where attendees are forced to roll around in the mud in the name of fun.

1. Rainforest World Music Festival (12 to 14 July 2019)

Taking place amidst the lush greenery of Kuching, Malaysia’s beautiful rainforest, Rainforest World Music Festival 2019 celebrates the unity of different cultures and music across the world. This unique 3-day music festival will feature a series of music, dance and cultural workshops in addition to live performances.

If there’s one concept the Korean people have seriously got on lock, it’s chimaek—chicken and beer. Daegu Chimac Festival 2019 is a music event that celebrates—you guessed it—chicken, beer and music. Party, pig out and drink yourselves silly, that’s what this 5-day event is all about.

Happening at The Ranch up in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, Good Vibes Festival brings together a stellar line-up of some of the world’s best indie, pop and hip-hop artists for 2 nights only.

4. Fuji Rock Festival (26 to 28 July 2019)

Nothing beats rocking out to live music and the great outdoors. Put two and two together and what you get is Fuji Rock Festival 2019.

For one weekend only, Fuji Rock will play host to over a hundred artistes from around the world spanning big names such as The Chemical Brothers, Martin Garrix, Jason Mraz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure and Death Cab For Cutie.

6. Boryeong Mud Festival 2019 (19 to 28 July 2019)

A local festival that transformed into an international phenomenon, the Boryeong Mud Festival is an epic mud party cum music festival that celebrates the skin-enriching mud native to the region of Boryeong, South Korea and music.
